Redditch Advertiser - May 08A Narrow Education
|
Pupils dressed in Victorian costume floated into class last Wednesday (May 21) after taking a trip on a narrowboat. Tardebigge CE First School children climbed aboard at the Alvechurch marina before taking a casual cruise along the Worcester and Birmingham Canal . The journey took in the Shortwood Tunnel and Tardebigge Tunnel as well as a lock demonstration. Pupils then returned to dry land just before the Tardebigge flight of locks from where they then walked back to school. The trip was designed to give children a glimpse into what life was like for Victorian pupils as well as a chance to learn more about the canal and its history. |
